Early Life and Education
Jacob Maduka, born on July 8 in Nigeria, graduated from Abia State University with a degree in Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. Although he initially pursued a career in agriculture and veterinary sciences, his deep passion for photography and art inspired him to transition into a creative career.
Career Journey
Jacob Maduka worked with FungTai Engineering for several years before fully committing to photography. After teaching himself the basics of photography, he began taking pictures and honing his craft. In 2014, he became the frontline photographer for KDStudio Nigeria, marking the beginning of a prolific career in visual storytelling.
Jacob has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as The World Bank and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Recognized for his ability to capture compelling narratives through the lens, he secured an open contract with Getty Images, a visual media company and supplier of stock images, editorial photography, video, and music for business and consumers, with a library of over 477 million assets.. In addition to photography, he has expanded his portfolio to include shooting feature and short films, music videos, and documentaries.
International Pursuits
In his quest to refine and expand his skills, Jacob Maduka enrolled in the Photography Still & Motion program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The program focuses on teaching students how to create impactful images rather than just taking pictures. Jacob is currently in his second year and final semester, further solidifying his expertise and creative vision.
