This is Your Official Notice for The AMM

Board members at the Annual Meeting of the Members.

September 25 marks The Official Notice of The Annual Meeting of The Members (AMM). We host this meeting every year to demonstrate to our membership (the students) what we have accomplished during the previous school year and how we advocated to enhance their experience at Mohawk College and beyond. It's also an opportunity to meet with your MSA Board of Directors, ask questions about your students' association, and more!

Continue reading below for more details.

How do I attend The AMM?

Everyone is welcome to attend The AMM, but only full-time students can vote on MSA policies and initiatives. We encourage students to register for The AMM through the link below. Once our Governance & Advocacy Team has verified that you can vote, you’ll receive a confirmation message in your Mohawk College emails with further details.

What type of questions can I ask at The AMM?

Remember, this meeting is for you! We want our members to share their thoughts, questions, and feedback with us so we can better support you as your students' association. The best people to provide insight into the Mohawk College experience are the students who live it daily.

There are no wrong questions. We want to hear your voice!

Here is a list of sample questions to help guide you when thinking of your own:

  • How does the MSA represent my voice as a student?

  •  I have an issue I’d like to discuss about my student experience; who can I talk to to get support?

  • I’m looking to get more involved on campus/volunteer experience. What does the MSA offer?

  • I’m interested in becoming a recognized student leader; how can I do that with the MSA?

  • What is the breakdown of my fees that go to the MSA?

  • I’m looking for a part-time job. Can the MSA help me?

  • How does the MSA advocate on my behalf, and where?

  • As a student, I have dietary and cultural needs and find eating on campus difficult. Does the MSA provide any support for that?

  • What are upcoming events? How can I provide feedback on events and submit ideas?

  • I’m an international student and do not have a family doctor. Can the MSA health and dental plan help me?

How can I prepare for The AMM?

You can prepare to attend The AMM and actively participate in many ways, including reviewing our website, past meeting minutes and agendas, and The 2023 to 2024 Impact Report. We publish this report every year before The AMM to provide students with an overview of how we worked for them to support and enhance their student experience.  You can now view The Impact Report on our website under 'Student Voice' in three formats:

  1. Read the full PDF Version,

  1. view the digital condensed version,

  1. or watch the Impact Report Playlist on our YouTube channel

Meet with us from September 25 to October 9 at Fennell Campus to learn more about The AMM and Impact Report and get to know your MSA Board of Directors. For more details, check out our website's Events Calendar under 'Things to Do'. We can't wait to see you at The AMM!
