2025 MSA Annual Meeting of the Members

September 23 marks The Official Notice of The 2025 MSA Annual Meeting of The Members (AMM). We host this meeting every year to demonstrate to our membership (students) what we have accomplished during the previous school year and how we advocated to enhance their experience at Mohawk College and beyond.

The AMM is an excellent opportunity to learn more about how YOUR students' association works for YOU! When you attend the AMM as an MSA Member, you do more than just listen and learn - you actively participate!

How can I participate at the AMM?

During the meeting, The MSA Board of Directors will discuss and highlight The MSA's achievement from the previous year (2024 to 2025) along with what we are working towards for the upcoming year. At the town hall portion of the meeting, we invite and encourage MSA Members (students) to:

  • Ask questions about what your MSA fees are used for and what the Board does on your behalf
  • Vote on: MSA Governance changes to best represent yourself
  • Use your voice to improve your college experience
How do I attend the AMM?

Everyone is welcome to attend the AMM. If you don't qualify to vote, our Governance & Advocacy team will connect with you about other ways to participate. You can register to attend the meeting through the event listing on our website.

When is the AMM?

The AMM will be held in The Arnie at Fennell Campus from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, October 8. We encourage students to arrive at 1:30 pm when doors open to check in for the meeting.

Please Note: If you can't attend the meeting but would still like to use your voice, you can proxy your vote! Let us know in the accessibility question of the registration form.

Does it cost anything to attend the AMM?

Attendance is completely free, and we’ll be providing food, refreshments, and MSA swag to every student who attends. If you bring your MSA Book Bag, you’ll also receive an exclusive decal to commemorate the event.

What type of questions can I ask at the AMM?

We want our members to share their thoughts, questions, and feedback with us so we can better support you as your students' association. The best people to provide insight into the Mohawk College experience are the students who live it daily.

Here is a list of sample questions to help guide you when thinking of your own:
  • How does The MSA represent my voice as a student?

  •  I have an issue I’d like to discuss about my student experience; who can I talk to to get support?

  • I’m looking to get more involved on campus/volunteer experience. What does The MSA offer?

  • I’m interested in becoming a recognized student leader; how can I do that with The MSA?

  • What is the breakdown of my fees that go to The MSA?

  • I’m looking for a part-time job. Can The MSA help me?

  • How does The MSA advocate on my behalf, and where?

  • As a student, I have dietary and cultural needs and find eating on campus difficult. Does The MSA provide any support for that?

  • What are upcoming events? How can I provide feedback on events and submit ideas?

  • I’m an international student and do not have a family doctor. Can The MSA Health & Dental Insurance Plan help me?

How can I prepare for the AMM?

You can prepare to attend the AMM and actively participate in many ways, including reviewing our website, past meeting minutes, and the 2024-2025 Impact Report. We publish this report every year before the AMM to provide students with an overview of how we worked to support and enhance their student experience.

You can now view The Impact Report on our website in the following formats:

If you have questions, or are looking for more information, please email melanie.extance@mohawkcollege.ca. We can't wait to hear your voice at the AMM!
