Diwali, also called Deepavali, is known as the Festival of Lights. Filled with joy and incredibly family-oriented, it’s a holiday for everyone to enjoy—a celebration of peace, prosperity and the triumph of good over evil.

Whether you celebrate Diwali, or would like to learn more, stop by our drop-in Diwali celebration activity where we will have music, a photo area, clay Diyas to paint and some traditional sweets (both limited quantities).

What is a Diya? A Diya is a small, traditional oil lamp made from clay, brass or silver with a cotton wick dipped in oil or ghee. Painting Diyas combines deep spiritual symbolism with creative expression, turning a sacred ritual object info a vibrant work of art. Lighting a Diya represents the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge of ignorance, and good over evil.
